MISPLACED PRIORITIES

The tussle between the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) vs. the Federal Government of Nigeria is stale news in Nigeria and the international community. The federal government charged the indigenous leader of IPOB with treasonable felony. I don't want to delve into certain intricacies for the reason of this post.
I have not seen the type of injustice and total disrespect to human lives and properties as the one experienced in this present administration (see the case of the wanton and sporadic killings which has been on the go by the so-called "Fulani herdsmen"). Regardless of the non-stop killings by these inhumane blood thirsty beings, the FG has done little or nothing to alleviate the killing sprees. The FG was quick to call the harmless group of protesters (i.e. IPOB) terrorists, but have refused to address the killing spree committed by the so-called "Fulani herdsmen". We don't need a soothsayer to tell us that ethnocentrism plays a huge part in the running of the present administration. I am not from the East that i would be judged as someone who is taking sides with my kinsmen. I am just a concerned, enlightened and patriotic Nigerian who knows that we all have a part to play in governance. Same thing has been going on for decades since the inception of our so-called democracy because we have all decided not to act accordingly to our constitutional duties as citizens of this great nation.
During the course of the weekend, the peaceful town of Jos in Plateau state was ravaged by so-called herdsmen who went on their trademark of killing any being that draws breath. They killed men, women and even little babies. What else do the FG want to see before they can call this inhuman behaviour an act of terrorism meted on innocent Nigerians? This goes a long way to show how little the FG values the lives and properties of the Nigerian citizens they were voted and sworn in to serve. To add salt to injury, the FG addressed the unjust and inhumane killings of Nigerians 'a plot led by desperate politicians against this administration'. I really marvel at what the political situation in my country has turned out to be in the hands of incompetent and bad leaders.
With all these security issues plaguing us, all the FG can do is to put a drop in the ocean by arresting one of the sureties to the leader of IPOB (Nnamdi Kanu). I don't know how the arrest of Senator Abaribe would ameliorate the security or economic issues facing Nigeria. Did Senator Abaribe contribute to the recent killings going on in Jos? This is an express example of a government steered by misplaced priorities. The FG should focus on tackling the pressing issues on ground than to be chasing rats when your house is on fire. We would not get it right democratically and politically speaking until we all have this saying stuck in our hearts: "where i'm born is not where i'm from and where i'm from is not my home." I solemnly say the above words with a projection of a Nigeria where we don't have Nigerian President, but a President who is truly a Nigerian.
Below is photo shots of peaceful protesters exercising their constitutional right to demand the release of the unjust and unconstitutional arrest of Senator Abaribe at the Federal High Court complex Abuja.

Video cuts from protesters. The video shot of the man from Adamawa state really touched me and sent chills through my spine...
